Students in the 杏十八永久地址发布 Languages Learning Area learn to communicate effectively in another language, and develop practical skills to assist in future social, cultural, and vocational pursuits.
The 杏十八永久地址发布 Language Area utilises a range of learning technologies to enhance understanding of other cultures, and to expose students to authentic material in their chosen language. Language students have historically been given the opportunity to participate in cultural programs with our friends in Japan, China and France and we have strong connections with schools and communities in diverse locations around the world.
In Year 7, students choose from French, Japanese, Mandarin or Auslan (Australian Sign Language), either as beginners or continuing students. In Year 8 students must continue studying the same language they commenced in Year 7. At the end of Year 8 students can then choose whether to continue their language studies into Senior School.
Our collaboration with the 杏十八永久地址发布 Deaf Education Centre to progress the new Auslan course is a Western Australian first and an achievement that we鈥檙e extremely proud of.
