Outstanding Japanese Results

We recently had the pleasure of welcoming back Inho Jung, pictured here with the Teacher in Charge of Languages, Mr Robbie Poole, and Japanese Assistant Noriko Ikuta.听 Inho was awarded a Subject Exhibition for being the top-performing student in the Japanese: Second Language ATAR course last year.

Inho came back to 杏十八永久地址发布 this term to speak with our current Year 12 Japanese Language students and to offer advice on how to succeed in Japanese in their final year of study. We are very proud of his achievement and wish Inho all the best for the future.

Stella Berry Scholarship Recipient

Earlier this year, the College announced an application process for the inaugural Stella Berry Scholarship – an opportunity sponsored by the Shenton P&C for a student to receive a fully funded cultural immersion to stay with a family in France, set up to honour the memory of Year 11 student, Stella Berry.

We are delighted to announce Beth Vere as the recipient of this scholarship. Beth, a Year 11 student, hopes this wonderful opportunity will help her grow as a person and leave her with experiences she can share with peers. 鈥淚 would like to听converse more naturally in French and understand the language more quickly, and I expect the total immersion this program offers will enable me to do this. I also hope to gain an appreciation of French culture through exposure to French customs, music, architecture and literature, and the experience of living as part of a French family.”

Beth will venture overseas at the end of Term 4 and the summer break. We look forward to hearing of her adventures when she returns.

Congratulations Eva!

UWA Fogarty Scholarship

Year 12 Shenton student Eva Czislowski has been awarded a UWA Fogarty Scholarship for 2024.

This prestigious scholarship is awarded to ten Year 12 students from across WA. Those selected for the UWA Fogarty Foundation Scholarship Program are provided with holistic support through opportunities to learn, acquire skills, build assets and create social networks.

Since 2004 the scholarship program has educated and supported almost 200 young people who encourage and inspire each other. Through this support, they are empowered to make a significant contribution to WA.

Stella Berry Scholarship

Stella Berry鈥檚 passing early this year has had a profound impact on the Shenton community.

As you may have read in the recent Shenton Highlights article, with her family鈥檚 permission the College has taken steps to create a scholarship that reflects Stella鈥檚 passions.听 It will be awarded annually to a Year 10 or 11 student that wishes to have a 6-7 week immersion experience in France. The student will live with a French family and attend a French school.

The P&C has made a donation towards this initiative and invites further donations to support this scholarship.听 Please note that these donations are not tax deductible.
